I spoke to AMS before I left and they told me it wasn't a problem to tune our stock ECUs for boost. I'll be looking forward to a tuning session when I get back!

Ok so I have a question, first off not bad numbers at all Now I am basically going to be doing this same build in about a years time with my 03 ES ( I be poor folk gonna take time to gather parts lol) I was going to get the Apexi SAFC NEO as a piggyback system, will this work with my ecu to read into my boost to get 200Whp?

Its not his job to figure out how to get a tuning solution to work with your vehicle. Its his job to be provided a tuning solution and to tune it accordingly. Any of the other turbo Lancers that went for tunes will tell you that their tuners would be able to tune their Lancers, as long as they had working definition files for their cars to read their ROMs.

If you look in the other threads you will find instructions on re-scaling load values. It's very easy to do. Lots of guys here can help you if you have questions or problems doing it. But are you sure that your load values need to be re-scaled yet? You need to check your logs to see what loads you're hitting with 5psi in the upper RPMs. I've got mine scaled to 120.

Send me a copy of your ROM or upload it and post the link here and I'll see what definition file it uses.

Um.... neither. An Evo 8 ECU does not and cannot work with our cars (unless you put a 4G63T under the hood first).

not trying to act stupid.. but why? (i would assume its because of a dohc)
but has anyone tried using an evo ecu? most of our sensors and wireing are the same. main difference is mivec and dohc.. i mean im sure u would throw 20 CEL codes, but if it would run the car, im sure it would be 10x better then our ecus for tuning. (what if we had a dohc swap from a 4g93e or 4g92mivec, would an evo ecu work then?)

Um... yea because its a DOHC. It wouldn't even idle. And now you're asking the question that if you swapped a motor could you run an Evo ECU. Why is everyone so obsessed with running an Evo ECU...

Really, have you tried it? I haven't either but I have heard of other instances with Mitsubishis where ECUs were swapped between SOHC and DOHC cars and they run fine, granted both were n/a. The ECU generally does not care.

That is true. I stand corrected.

I just feel like this question has been touched on so many times over the years coming in second to the, "can I swap an Evo engine into my 2002 Lancer ES..."
