yea im not gonna run high boost, and i got a deal, very sweet deal lol, i just wanna make 350, with a cam and built engine i will have no problem.

i called forged and they sent them in 2 days free

Um... I really don't foresee 350hp with a ceiling of 17-18psi. And those decomp gaskets are notorious for blowing at high boost levels.

Ah cool thanks zulu... So the best way to go would probably be to get like 8.5 to 1 forged pistons forged rods and and good metal had gasket?? or...

There is no "best way" to make power. It can be made at different RPMs, in different amounts, at different levels of boost and on different turbos. You can run 8.5:1 with a big turbo and lots of boost, but it will be very unstreetable and would have a very unusable powerband up top. You don't need to lower your CR that much just to run more boost. You can easily run plenty of boost on the stock 9.5:1 CR and have a very responsive engine along with it.

so i am thinking of ditching the low comp hg and just getting the arp studs and metal hg

i am getting the studs to buts what makes a difference with them and a metal gasket compared to a decomp gasket

Metal hg can withstand the boost pressures alot better over time than our stock ones with still having the same CR

oh so where do we pick this up! ( metal hg ) and anyone got hookups with mitsu, i need the bearings and gaskits

The OEM headgasket is very strong and reliable when installed and torqued down to spec with ARP head studs. The decomp gasket is a graphite composite if I remember right. RPW doesn't recommend boost over 18psi with it. And over in the Mirage forums you can read a few threads on them popping under boost.

where did u guys get those fans, mine is no where near strong enough, i keep over heating!!!

my motor also arrives tomorrow!!

Zulu, great job on the build, sounds like it was definately worth it! BTW, I'm also having problems with a hole in my rad, did the evo 9 drop in for ya?

didnt get the evo 9 one yet. lol i just stuck a egg in and its worked ever since lol, the leak was so bad but not anymore hahaha. hat cfm shout i get thats strong enough to blow through the ac and radiator
