16g hotsides

I have been looking a bit in the evo forums reading about the hotsides for the 16g. I have read a few things that the 9.8 will give a quicker spool. Would it be better for our lancers to use the 9.8 hotside, or to find one with a 10.5?

Considering the kind of boost you'll be running, go for what's cheaper.

What would be the most notable differences between the two, and what one would you choose?

As I said, you're not going to be running a lot of boost so the difference will be minimal. I would choose the turbo I could easily find.

If it's low boost, you can just get the 16g with the 9.8 hotside for pretty cheap...

Thats what I was thinking because I read it helps to get the turbo spooling quicker. If I were to go forged internals down the road would you suggest the 10.5 after a certain level?

Again, it's unlikely that you'll notice a difference.

Listen to ambystom01, your not gonna notice a difference unless your boosting past 18psi. With 7-10psi with either 9.8 or 10.5 hotside, you won't feel a difference, maybe notice the 9.8 spools 100-200rpm quicker.

people really dont think about the limit rev range of these motors. You wont be running enough psi or revs to see a drop off in power like an evo will. Smaller housings will just about always be better on a motor making well under 300whp
