9 months now of doing it every friday atleast 5-6times a night.. and autocrossing every other weekend on sundays.. hasnt gone out yet! ive been doing it since ive had it almost.. just its turbod now.. only difference.. 120k miles of straight abuse on my car.. (20k this year on the turbo, blew at 109k in march) and i only take my car out to abuse it.. so i think ive done pretty good on not breaking stuff.. tranny = 150$ from my salvage company, not a big deal.. 3 hour swap in my driveway.. woopie!
i do nutrual slams at the autocrosses to get started normally at 4k just to minimize tire spin and still leave in boost without completely lighting the tires up.. unprepped pavement sucks.. but at the track its 6k launches with 22x8.6wide(i think) slicks.. 1.6x-1.7 is normal 60' time.. it really gets going with the slicks.. i figured an axle would have broke by now or the tranny would have blown or something.. but notta

cincy ive told u this atleast 5 times in the past.. i dont have much turbo lag.. and i still autocross the car and have minimal issues(basically only problem is a real tight 180degree turn in 1st gear, but mainly cuz of the autotrans, and i still do that just as well as anyone else i think).. and i have plenty of power at the dragway.. i have no lag issues.. i break boost at 2500? i didnt want a car to spool at idle.. only real issue is that its an automatic, so i have to do a nuetral slam to launch in boost, i can just put load on the tranny, but that feels like alot more abuse and i dont like doing it.... when i drive my car on the street i can drive it normal and not break boost.. thats AWSOME.. i get 35 mpg on the highway still if i put around.. and the cars power doesnt even come close to tappering off in the upper rpms like most all the other lancers(and evos) out there. honestly thinkg your over examining my car by questioning a turbo setup i love.. powerband is perfect, i outrun mustangs and g8's all day long from a roll and when i abuse it, it really flexxes its muscles..
and i definately dont drive my car like an auto either.. i release during shifts, and downshift manually 24/7 (and next person to tell me im gunna break my tranny, I DONT CARE, ive been doing it since day one of the car, its lasted 120k miles and 8yrs with me doing all that. and ive always manually held and shifted the car, EVERY TIME i drive it)
hehe.. ive never been a fan of small turbos.. u have even more traction issues then i do, and its cuz u make to much power down low. (dont bother debaiting that either, ive prooven it time and time again on the street, and at the track) i honestly believe my 60 trim is about the perfect size.. any bigger and im sure launching wouldnt work out as well, and i would have a more noticeable lag time.. but full boost before 3k rpms(at 12-14psi).. sorry.. thats not lag to me.. i run 5psi to be safe(plus its easier on the tires at autocrossing events, and i dont second guess myself on WOT vs other cars at low boost)
my only goal right now is to run a high 12 with slicks by the end of the year. and to hopefully beat my bosses car from a roll.. but i donno if ill ever do that..(apr stg 3 450hp vw gti mch 5)

"with fwd drag tires" (dead stop just punching it.. 2.7-3.0 60', preloading the tranny, 2.0-2.2, and 6k launch 1.6x-1.7) all come with plenty of tire spin, and each one less turbo lag
