any regrets on turbo for lancer?
I was wondering if any of you guys that have made the conversion fell regret about the fact that the lancer ralliart comes with all the equipment except for the fact that the transmission is "auto" but above anything else the lacer ralliart is a nice package , Im asking this because this month ill be mounting my turbo kit and I wonder If its worth it just to give my lancer gts in trade in for a ralliart ? just before I mount the kit any comments about it ?

I say be unique, you have an 08 lancer, which is turbo'd. How many people can say that, only few. FWD or not, who care's do you really see yourself entering drift tournaments? Or do you just want yourself a faster car that will smoke fools when they think their doper. BlahDao!

go for it man, just make sure you have ALL the proper gauges and a good tune before you go crazy and floor it on the highway haha I mean AFR, Boost, EGT, Oil Press, Water Temp, etc.......when my car was turboed, everyone thought it was an evo x, and I was actually happy telling them it was just a lancer, because the look on their face was priceless all the time....

i say go with the ralliart man. its not worth having no warranty and the amount of money you invest you can invest in mods for the RA. test drive a RA, from having turbo and AWD alone will change your mind. using the SST tranny you wont care if theres a clutch pedal or not. so unless you want a big money pit. go with the Ralliart.

i seen a stock RA 2010 run on the track(1/4mile) today, it ran low 14, so i know im in the mid to high 13, and i paid less including the Kit. And for the SST, i dont car about them at all im a manual guy, and if you do get the "SST" i hope you dont plan on downshifting 2 or 3 gears goin into a turn from a high speed cuz it wont... i mean it will but the respones time on the downshift sucks *****.... just my 2cents

I've been struggling with this as well. Keep the GTS and turbo it, or sell and get an VIII. I've been leaning towards the turbo now. I know the 2.4L hasnt been pioneered much in terms of custom turbo kits, but i just really feel that its worth a shot. Since it shares partly the same platform as the evo's 4B11 some parts can be sourced that way instead of having to go custom like with the 4g94. Manifold, turbo (with different wastegate spring), piping, etc. It makes the possibilities more open.
I'm considering it.

Agreed! Also dnt u have an 08 gts? If so u won't necessarily b any faster. But if u do have the 2.4l, you drop $10,000 into the engine yea it'll b faster, u drop that same amount into a ralliart ha! I doubt the gts wud b keeping up. But 1 thing I have to agree with u on is the manual transmission.

its purely a $$ issue. I have a great job, and make good money, i just cant sometimes justify dropping over a certain $$ just to get exactly what i want to feed an unnecessary hunger for AWD and power haha hence why i've been going back to the thought of turboing the GTS. I dont want EVO power (nor do it need it in a daily driver), but it would be nice to put down 6-7psi and throw down 200 something HP on a daily driver without breakin a sweat. I dont need a track car, i dont need 300+. I just need a reliable daily driver to get me to work and to my clients, while still having that nice feeling of turbo whoosh. About the only thing the evo has over the lancer though is AWD, and thats another main issue.
