Overboosting the Turbo does this !

this is the intake turbine from a TD05 that the owner tried to get out 30 pound ( the engine was made for it)

On first turn on, the engine started, and he took it for a test drive, got it back into the workshop and said it made boost twice, and then all he heard was metal noises.. they took the turbo off, and this is what it looks like.. look at the turbine blades.. they are snapped off.. and the turbo was full of oil..

(ps im sorry sexy mod's, i was looking for this forum, not the other one )

Nup, no tools in turbo nothing.. for some reason, this intake turbine housing was made from aluminium im pretty sure ( same as the R33 GTS-T turbos) that dont like any boost pressure above 20 pound.. this is what happens..

The turbo was on the car before as well, but had been rebuilt and fully inspected and balanced before they put it on the car as well...
