DOHC 4g94--BOOSTIN'
Yes it's official, with the help of LLT-Racing, I am one of the first (1 out of 5) American customers to purchase their 4g93E DOHC heads. Also I will be boosting it, with an evo VIII 16G turbo w/ 10.5 hotside. I drive a 02 oz rally, and yes its my daily driver. O yeah its an auto. A little about me, I am a graphic design student @ the Art Institute of Ohio-Cincinnati, i work at the school tutoring math, photoshop, illustrator (only 10 hours a week), I occasionally do tattoos, and I work security at bars/lounges/clubs or who ever needs muscle, etc.. O yea i'm a youngin' only 20 years old
and here is a parts list:
Evo 8: 16G turbo ($200) w/ 10.5 hotside ($150) and IC piping (60), FMIC(70), maf ($40), throttle body ($175) and intake ($40)
Megan: Tubular Turbo Manifold ($150), Down Pipe ($100), Test Pipe ($80), Oil catch can ($50), O2 housing ($65)
RRM: magnum fuel rail ($50), crank pulley ($80)
Fuel Pressure Regulator ($50)
J pipe ($35)
forge adjustable wga ($100)
Walbro Fuel pump ($90)
STI 440 injectors ($90) got a deal for buying the injectors and Walbro FP for 180 together
Wiseco Pistons ($110 or 150)
K1 rods ($330)
Apexi Turbo timer ($40)
aem true boost (175) and uego ($175)
Ported 4g93 intake mani ($160)
greddy rs bov ($140)
tactrix 1.3 cable ($100)
4g94 flange for the megan mani ($80)
ARP Head studs ($130)
4g93E head ($960)
Auto tranny cooler (60)
ECUflash free
plus all the gaskets, gauges and all the miscellaneous items
TOTAL SPENT well over $4000 (FML i kno) plus the amount for install and tune (150 an hour)
These prices aren't exact but they are close estimates (its been 7 months of buying parts, i can barely remember who sold me what lol)
--- I might be missing a few things, but its so many parts i can barely keep track ha. Also if i woulda paid full price for all these parts, the total would be even higher. So thanks to everyone who sold me a part and saved me tons (literally)
Luis, from LLT-Racing has been awesome, and is easy to deal with (except for the time difference) but really awesome customer service, the head is being shipped tomo, and should get here 3-5 days, (hopefully Monday). Sorry this is a little bit of a teaser, but the build should begin next week.
I will post pics as best as I can of the build, but it will be kinda difficult because i'm in class everyday until 6, so i might have my mechanic take pictures of the build. Also the build will be a 2-3 week process, my mechanic is slightly backed up with other customers, but will work his best to complete the build.
And I like to give a shout out to every on evolutionm.net who has helped me by answering questions, given feedback, or has sold me a part and any boostin lancers (for inspiring me to do this build) or any lancer enthusiast. If it wasn't for this site, none of this would be possible. so

I should get it in the next 2 weeks. I am waiting on headbolt then I am gonna tune/dyno/flash my ecu so everyone can see th numbers on stock sohc, then dohc, finally turbo on t25 at 15lbs. I kno it's extra money and work to seperate it instead of all at once but I wanna see what the dohc does NA and to get some numbers for you guys.

Thunder, we got a deal on the heads, because we're the first American customers, so i believed he lowered the price, so it might go back up, after the last head is gone. I do believe that there might be one head left. But anywho, the head went for 1050 AUD, which is about 950 USD, as of now, so depending on inflation, the price could change. I actually paid 960ish for just the head, i guess the value of the dollar changed in the past few weeks. And for the other parts i listed for the swap, about another 200-300 bucks. So about 1100-1200 USD

Indeed, this is only the beginning. and demon, thats whats i was expecting as well, hopefully more, since i can prolly boost more. How much are you producing out of your set up? I've been following your thread, but must've missed the numbers, well i see your 1/4 mile, but didnt see a dyno

highest PSI lancer on a 16g that i know of was "rabbit" at 22psi. there are a few guys around that all use 18-20psi on some seriously built setups. 16g is just such a small turbo, if ur really going for big power, or drag racin or something like that, ur alot better off with a larger turbo..

This is just my daily, so perhaps when i get another car, i'll shoot for a bigger turbo, but as of now, im gonna stick with the 16g, i wanna build my tranny this summer, before i do any more mods as well. Hopefully with a good tune, i can hit high 200's or low 300's. With this head, i can get cams, also, we've only seen these boost numbers on SOHC, not DOHC, and according to Luis from LLT-Racing it's about a 20-30 hp difference SOHC na vs. DOHC na.

Also i have a question, addressed to everybody.. Does anyone know what font Mitsubishi uses? well the font on the valve cover, I want to paint my valve cover, and add some text, but want it to match the original font, or even the font used on for the "DOHC" on the 4g93E head.
