I've always used the engine break-in instructions that AMS provides their customers. Breaking an engine in under load is the best way to get the piston rings seated on a fresh crosshatch. You only get one shot on a new motor.

^^ Exactly.tried my best to follow that, but sometimes u have issues to work around. i put about 500miles on mine before we really did any tuning other then the basics to just get it running.. (found out all the issues) and then took another 1000miles before i had it all sorted out.. and now im all tuned now for low boost. ive put around 1500-2000 miles on the car since we started the car. and its RIGHT now.

oh and sorry, didnt even read ur whole post, watchin the superbowl. LLOL

I like that!!! so basically after putting about 5k on the car you can pretty much drive it like a normal car? Just want to make sure and your right I didnt spend so much money for nothing

Ideally.. the modo 'abuse it to break it in' actually applies. and then after your break in period, drive it however u want. i drive my car like a F1 car. i downshift and run all the way up every gear, even when im not even getting on the gas. its how we have broken in just about every car.

Even on Brand new cars.. That is the truth.. run it ragged for a little bit, then do whatever u want. most people think its the opposite. really do whatever u want, but big race teams have 2-3 motors standing by were all broke in on Engine Dynos by variance of rpm over a curtain amount of time.

looks like ill be going to a m/t drag et radial 235/60/15 for the street, and a 26/8.5/15 slick for the track from now on.

both are comparable sizes (26/9/15 street, 26/8.5/15 track)

been thinking about getting a 275/50/15 drag et radial for the street. but it would require fender modifications that i wouldn't need to do for the slicks....
figured it was time to buy a fender roller and have some fun with big tires and adjustable coil overs

gutted the car the rest of the way today. got bored. and wanted to gut out under the dash.. currently no dash in the car at all, gunna play with the wiring tomorrow to see if i can clean it up a bit. gunna be a challange indeed.

might be time for a better wire tuck also.. we will see how tomorrow morning pans out.

oh and i ordered my boost controller today.. (not a big deal. but i can add it to my list of things to be installed)

figured today i was just gunna work on my vac leak issue..
took me about 30 seconds to notice everything.. origonally thought it was just cuz my injectors werent seated down becuase the way it was made its almost impossible to get them all flush.. Well. thats 1/2 the problem.. two of welds on the intake runners are completely cracked. sent off a few emails to see if i can rush some parts here so i can get a reputable local welder to rebuild my intake manifold asap. hopefully next week my vaccum/boost leaks will be corrected.

small update is better then none..

boost controller arrived today.
now im just waiting on my new intake flange, all new rims, skinnies drag tires and big drag slicks to arrive.

i havent ordered my coilovers yet, or a fender roller. but i will be going to pick up my new car hauler on monday morning as long as i can deliever my crx i just sold that day also. no room at my house for a trailer without maken room.

1 small fix.. a few more psi, and much fatter tires and ill be at the track next weekend. (ok, maybe 2 weeks away, depending on UPS being SLOW AS CAN BE!)

what are the arp long wheel studs for? just curious

also how much power do you plan on pushing the lancer? I need some competition once I get my crower rods in, and 9:5:1 pistons... Thats if the motor sells if not I will be doing just 350 at least to the wheels
