lowering compression on 4b12

ok so im going the turbo route pretty soon but i have a 4b12 10.5:1 CR so im only able to run the stock ra 7psi , wich is ggod for me for now but i know i will try to get more pretty soon lol , ok so the only way to run more boost is to lower my compression i will actually love to achieve the X 9:1 CR but idk if its even possible. i know to lower the compression i need either different pistons( i cant find them on a 88mm bore the closer is 87 mm for the evo x 2.3 stroker kit) or put a thicker head gasket (which i really have no idea where to get ) lmk if u guys have any idea about how this can get done i would love to know if the evox has a ticker gasket than the 4b12 to see if at least it can put me on 10:1 so i can get my evox waste gate and discard my RA thx for the help i will post the same question in different forums to see if i get any help

you could do the same thing Im doing. Buy the ATP o2 housing dowpipe, it comes with a 38mm flange so you can run an external wastegate. Get the downpipe, and buy a ewg with a smaller spring.

if you built your turbo kit right, you dont need more then 5-7psi to hit 200-220whp. & honestly you dont need more then that and you dont need to lower your compression ratio.

Hahaha, we actually don't need more than 50 WHP in a carto get to 100 KPH... The question is not how much power is needed, it's how much power we want!!!

To OP, I might be totally wrong but have you tried look at pistons for the SRT4? Or a Hyundai with the same engine core and bore?

lol oh well i take my lancer to the track alot so thats why i think 200whp is plenty. but if you want 300hp, go for it. Just make sure you work on actually transferring all that power to the road. Its the only way your gonna beat anything.

If your car is a stock 2008 ES, then you have a 4b11. The 4b12 didn't come out until 2009 and only in a GTS.

hey whats up villero, so ur on this forum too lol!! but yah man lower compression the most i have seen done to lower it was stronger pistons, ive looked at the srt-4 dodge caliber and most of the internals for that engine, its compression got down to 9:1 so it seems like the same, but if you wanna be the fastest 4b12 lancer on the street sometimes you need to be that guine pig :P

Brian Crower have 90mm Evo X head gasket. It shoud fit 4B12 and will lower your CR.
