Not trying to argue and all cars respond differently but in my case I lost more then 5hp. i had Megan o2 housing and DP. to 3'' electric cutout followed by Megan highflow cat. then it necked down to 2.5 Borla. I tuned it with the cutout open so that will effect these numbers. with it open on 7lbs i put down 201 and with it closed it was 180ish. You could feel the difference with it open to closed on the street. I would add a resonator to you exhaust if its sound reasons your getting pulled over. it would help out.

 

you said its not cause of the sound but rather the looks....easy answer change the muffler bro. Put your stock muffler back on and leave everything the same.

 

I know how the police works around here in montreal and i swear best way is to buy a magnaflow muffler...they sell it at the carfever shop on the 132 in st-constant, they sell for +-100-150$ for the 3 chamber muffler and it sounds as loud and deep as a canon and is stainless but the cops won't give you a ticket or even stop you when they see the shape. i have one myself and it's a straight 3'' custom exhaust with no cat with that muffler at the end and i never get stopped even though it's really loud!

 

just put on the oem muffler.. and use a turndown dump right off the turbo.. it will look stock but sound broken. LOL

 

That must suck to get a ticket for the size of your exhaust tip. Just chop the muffler off and put something else on? Maybe a duel exhaust tip would throw them off a little.

 

Thanks guys for your input. Yes, I got pulled over many times mostly for looks. I have put back on the stock exhaust for now and will explore solutions soon!
