if anyones interested check out www.mp3playerstore.com amazing cheap stuff. Im gonna get a dvd player and an indash screen for my subie outback. If its good I'll get better stuff from them for my lancer.
They even have leather wrapped headrests with the screens already built in them. Although I'm moving away from that idea to a custom mount for the back passengers which will allow me to install racing seats when I want to.

i just ordered a dvd unit and a 7" indash screen. The whole thing cost me under $300 bucks. When I get them installed I'll write a review on them and let you guys know if its worth buying from them.

no crazy hook up or secret. Just go to the website I posted and order from them. Their basic dvd/cd/mp3 headunit starts at a little over $100. Then you can get a separate dash mounted screen. The only down side is that you need to have two available din's. (A problem easily solved with the din relocator package from
I got a non motorized 7" screen and the basic dvd player for $248 bucks plus $10 shipping. So for a grand total of $258 I can have a nice setup in my car. The headunit even has A/V in jacks for video game systems.

a din is the space that you insert the headunit into. Mitsu offers a kit that allows you to move your headunit and install it near your shifter where that little cubby hole is. And then once you do that the original spot where your headunit was is now empty and can accept a video screen or gauges as some people like to put them there.

heres a post from a long time ago https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...3&page=1&pp=15
Run a search on lower din or din relocator and you should get some good info. Theres two kits you can get.
Theres the one mentioned in the link above which is really just a plastic piece that replaces the cubby hole by the shifter. It costs $19 plus shipping and only comes in black. You basically slip the headunit into it and the trim around the headunit (if it has trim) holds it in place.
Then theres an actual install kit that has a cage and mounting brackets on the inside. This is for headunits like the stock one that come without a trim ring and need to be mounted to a plate.
