Higher end Clarion like the 845 have a multicolor display that you can customize. I just did one in a 37 Chevy coupe and matched the display perfectly to the custom Orange paint.

Sony 5700 series ones do. I think the latest one is the 5710 or something.

alpine doesn't make a red display. they are green or blue (the really high 9835+ end one may have a flourescent display with multi colors)

the clarion 845 does have a pretty neat display. i have the 835 and it has both a white color (matches the center console color perfectly) and a red color which comes very close to the instrement cluster.

HOWEVER! i feel the clarion decks are garbage and i am never going to buy another. i have had two, the first one worked well for a middle range deck, but the 835 i have just flat out sucks. it is so bad, just the other day i was racing a vette from a stop, and the faceplate flew off the cd player when i launched (no joke, i even have it on video tape). it rattles like a **** all the time, and regularly turns off because the contacts between the face and the deck are not good with all the rattling. and don't get me started on the lack of features it has for a 500 dollar cd player. i'm going with alpine next.

I'm very happy with my Sony Xplod CDX-F7700. The buttons and everything light up red, but the motion display is blue. =/ I like my sony deck and haven't had any problems with it. It has 1 rca input, 2 rca pre-outs, and 1 mono sub output. It plays mp3 cds flawlessly and they sound great. My friend went and got the same headunit as me (Sony Xplod CDX-F7700) and he couldn't get his to work. He returned it because it was faulty from the factory. Maybe sony just has some problems here and there. Mine works fine though. I would recommend Alpine though. My girlfriend has an alpine and it sounds nice.

Actually, Alpine does offer one with a red display and buttons...in fact, you can change it between 512 different colors. It's the Alpine 9833 cd/mp3 player. I have the model below it (no color change) and I love it! I found it on ebay...but it's actually cheaper through crutchfield.com. Here is the link...it gives all of the specs.

well, yeah your right it changes the color of the buttons, but just the buttons. it doesn't change the color of the display. the clarion color changing changes everything that lights up to the color you selected. quite nice that way (but still a ****ty cd player).

I have the sony CDX-F7700. It's great. Plays MP3 and the dials are red. Matches perfectly. The funny thing is that I didn't even know that they matched till after it was installed and I was driving at night. I pick the unit for all of the options it has. Also it has something called DSO which I swear makes it sound like you have more speakers in your car. And it is set up to work with XM satilite if you choose to get that in the future.

old one or new one? which model number? because the 7-8 models i used to sell were all blue. even the high end one with the full dot matrix display thingy was in bluescale. you could load your own pictures into it, it just changed them to bluescale.

Many companies have decks with multiple colours and you can scroll through them untill you find your desired colour. I used to have a Kenwood with red buttons and red display, dont know the model but it would be like 5 years old now.
