They should have factory alarm (real alarm) since they can't provide good enough locks.

I have the Karr alarm on my 02 ES, and it didn't even go off when someone broke in to steal my headunit. Funny thing is that it will chirp like hell when I close the trunk, but not when someone shoves the window down into the door, and climbs in (assuming, for the alarm's sake).

increase the sensitivity maybe? i tried it once on my car and the alarm would go off by just throwing a rag on it or tapping the side mirrors.

Good luck- that's not a complete amateur job. The random crackhead or punk looking to steal a stereo and make a couple bucks at the pawnshop is just gonna break the window. This guy brought tools to pop the lock away from the body of the car, so it looks like he's just openeing the door.

Sux about the $800. Will insurance cover any of it?

I have a $500 deductable, which I am going to add the loss from the stereo in that. I know I probably won't find the person responsible, but I sure am gonna try. I'd like to beat the royal **** outta him.

yea, but then I gotta worry about paint, lock cylinder. my lock cylinder is actually ruined from a screwdriver being shoved in it...and a new one has to be coded to fit my current key. in a way, it wouldve been easier for my window to be busted out...except the dact it was raining the night it happened.
