Curious about a few? (a lot?) of things

Whats up fellas... well, im definitely looking into some audio improvements in the near future now..

My experience with car audio is next to nothing...

I'm gonna have a some extra cash in a bit, around 300~ ish and i have a few thigns im wondering.

I went to an caraudio thing in my area; i was playing around with the subs, some entry level stuff and what i think I liked was a 12" infinity sub, ( 350rms, 1200max?) which was pretty cheap, $100 at a place that marksup like crazy. I think I have infinity speakers that come in my Lancer stock? Not sure; but they're pretty damn clear and bass heavy (for my standards?). What I want to know is

A. the 12' Infinity Reference 350 rms Good/price entry level sub?
B. A decent (but cheap) Amp to run the sub(s)
C. should i get a ported box over sealed? I listen to mostly hiphop so i like a lot of bass.

pretty much my goal is, to keep the clarity of my speakers, so that i can turn it up without bass distortion, and have clear loud bass at the same time (from the subs?)

also anyone mind explaning or have any sites regarding information/explanation audio terms.. like

OHMs, and bridging, and all that stuff means?

thanks in advance

the infinity is a good sub for 100 bucks, and you can find it for 100 almost anywhere... 300 is too cheap if you ask me. think about it... 100 for sub, 50 for box, and you need wiring so thats about 100 for some decent stuff, then expect about 250 for a good amp. not to mention a line out converter (20) if you dont have an aftermarket radio... the12volt.com is a pretty good website i think. but yeah think more towards 500 if you want anything decent.

they have good stuff..and $20 for 8 gauge amp install kit, that's probably all you need for your setup.

Heck, if you think the Inf. is a good sub...get it. For an amp, try looking up Ebay for a cheaper Alpine; maybe the 750 watt max mono sub amp would do. The box, in your case, should be ported. It will give you "louder" bass and it's more efficient than sealed. Remember, you'll need those line converters (if you don't have an aftermarket headunit) for signal to your amp and an amp kit for running power/ground/lead cable to the amp as well. Hope this gets you where you'd like to be.
