i was pondering the firewall drill.. but as for where taht wire went through... theres no way theres a perfectly sized 4 gauge hole... facing conveniently UPWARDS just waiting for a wire...
you had to drill through that thing.

no lol i just grabbed a knife and had my freind look at that spot to see where i was poking, and he said he saw something moving so i just slit a hole in it and twisted the knife, and ran the wire throught lol, might be a little ghetto but i don't care.
the rubber thing isnt perfect size for a 4awg its like the size of a baseball.
sorry i misunderstood you in your earlier post.

yeah.....there's several wires from the ECU and SRS in there i believe. that's not the place to just be cutting around.....behind the passenger side strut tower there is a grommet in the firewall. simply pop it out and the wire will feed just behind the glove box. if you already ran that much excess wire-->just go the extra 2ft and be safe. it's all a preference thing. i would just hate to see something accidently get cut the way yours was ran. (that is if somebody else decides to mimic it)

i went the drivers side fender rout.. worked great till i had to get the wire back to the INSIDE of the car.. that grommet was a B I T C H... ended up actually popping the grommet OUT.... cause its huge and has wires already in it... then just ran it through the hole and wedged the gromet in the best i could while screaming obscenities at the steering column cause it was the only thing there to yell at...
im not sure how you other guys got through the fender.. that was no small task... took about 30 seconds to run it once i got it to the kick plate... btw.. 60/40 fold down seats made it DAMN easy to slide that wire under the seats and into the trunk...
im starting work on the install tomorrow.. supposed to be 70 outside... in march... so im gunna get crankin.. ill have pics soon

dont be so afraid to drill in the firewall just feel for an open spot and make sure its clear on the other side....and boom u did it....ur making a bigger deal out of it than what it really is. There is plenty of room next to ur driver side strut tower. as a matter of fact there is so much room that i have 3 holes there and no problems.
