Bass Distortion Problem
Im running a Pioneer Head Unit (50W x 4) and Front Alpine Speakers (50 W RMS)
I love both of them, sounds amazing and crystal clear, up to volume 36 ... after that volume and higher the bass sounds distorted and doesnt have that deep sound that it gives off, it gives off the base but another sound comes with it at the high volumes that messes everything up
I dont know what it is but i hear that if i amp the front speakers and i guess the rear speakers, it will stop this distortion and fix the bass to make it sound right, what you guys think?

Get a Sub and Amp to power the subs. Once you do that, you can lower the bass on the front speakers so they don't distort. The SUB will give sufficient bass to compliment the high and mids coming from your front speakers.

Then ill turn the bass down from +6 to +3 and the sub will make up from the loss in bass right?

i would buy some rear speakers, an amp(mybe even two, a single ch and 4ch)and a sub. i would leave the bass level on the EQ at 0 and just turn up the trebbel(sp) a lil. if you dont want to buy a sub right now. at least get a 4 ch amp(for your front and rear speakers) you can still amp up the stock speakers.

well i would keep it at 0 if you get an amp and a sub.
when you turn the bass up on the head unit to speakers that do not have amps to them and the turn the volume up. thats how you make your alipnes sound like ****. and you could even blow them.
IMO, if you get an amp i would'nt turn the bass up pass 3. theres no reason to turn it up to high when you have an amp and a sub.
you should get some nice/ok 6x9's for the rear and a 4ch amp. and you should be just fine.
if bass is what you really want. i would get a kicker amp and a kicker sub. then you'll be in business

What you also might be experiencing is the built in roll-off of certain frequencies. As the volume goes up,the lower end frequencies drop out.Alpine has this in their units.Your Pioneer might have it too. When we don't hear the lower frequencies,we turn the volume up to hear the lows again possibly causing your distortion.

First thing I would recommend doing is replacing the stock speakers in the back. Even if you amp the front ones the back ones will still not sound right because they are stock. So I would suggest getting another set for the back and then going with a 4 channel amp. I have a sub amp for sale. If you want to talk about car audio or anything like that you can hit me up on aim.
