Pheonix Gold Amps
Back around 1996 I used MPS series "cheater amps." I thought they had very good, clean, stable performance. Does anyone know if Pheonix Gold products are still high quality, and if they make a "cheater" amp anymore? I was thinking of putting a competition style system in together. I been seeing a lot of people using JL equipment in this forum, and any input would be appeciated.

Pheonix Gold amps are still high quality. I dont think that they make a "cheater amp" any more but Im not familiar with all their amps. Besides most comps will class you by how much the amp actually does, not what its rated. Meca anyway. Dont know about db drag or outlaw.

Ear..... Now you are on my subject.
I competed, way back in 1994 (HS days), and used a PG 48 watt amp. I had the thing bridged and dropped to around .78Ohm.
I never won anything because I was a self installer and there were guys spending 10-20k on 50watt and under class.
To answer your question they still make one of the best amps (I feel) on the market. Go for their Titanium models. I think those are their highest end.

I went to the website, but couldn't get any info on the Titanium only the Tantrum series. But the info I got was really what I was looking for all it had was the basic like 12.6v rms. Anyone know where I can find more info their website sucks.

i am a HUGE fan of pheonix gold. they make good stuff, even their "low end" is high quality.
the website i think only has stuff listed for the 200x1 titanium model. but they should all be pretty similar in that product line.

Thanks for the input. I know what I have to do now. Find a local dealer, and see what kind of prices they are offering compared to internet dealers. Does anyone have the Titanium or Tantrum amps in use now?
