Looking for new sound system
I'm looking for a new system but don't really know a whole lot. I just want some oppinions on what subs to get, speakers, receiver, amp - pretty much everything.
I don't want to be extremely loud with my bass but I do want some nice quality sound, what brand sub do you suggest
Thanks

memphis subs are great..if you can find them.
infinity makes great subs too.
as for components MB Quart seems to be the best quality from what ive heard. i like infinity speakers and component speakers as well.
i liek alpine headunits..they look good, sound quality is good but can be expensive, headunits aren't too different though so if u have a chance try some out yourself and choose one you like. make sure to check some features like the outputs and the wattage.
hope that helps some good luck

if you want to know good car audio setups, don't ask here. do some research. everyone is going to tell you different things. mostly people just tell you what they have and think that's the best stuff. go get some info and educate yourself otherwise you are pretty blind when it comes time to buy stuff.
only advice i can offer: don't get sony. you can find plenty of "cheaper" stuff that is still good quality. a good site to look for prices is www.etronics.com . personally, my favorites are:
eclipse head units and subs
zapco and phoenix gold amps
image dynamics speakers and subs
mb quart speakers
infinity perfect subs and speakers
boston acoustics speakers
i probably forgot a few, but that's an idea. look around, find out what makes some speakers/amps/receivers better, and make your own decisions. it'll be more fun, you'll learn more, and you'll be able to offer your own advice after it.

Cupoz yeah ur right but it takes for ever to get ur **** from etronics and its under investgation for false adverticement. So there u go i did some research. I honestly say pioneer is a very good head unit if your not getting a subs. If u are i recomend crossfire audiobahn memphis and jl and orion. but try getting the same name brand amp to run with ur sub. As for speakers inside go with MBQuarts and diamond. Nothing else for speakers they all suck *** if u want quality look bro i really now my audio took 3 classes on waves and physics to learfn resistance and so on. Two things u want for ur sub quality and make sure they can reach 2ohms with speakers 4 to 8 ohms should give u nice bass. So if u need more help Bichin2006@aol.com

For sounds system advice, there's a few questions I always like to have the answers to.
1. How much?
2. What Purpose?
3. How much space are you willing to give up?
Not knowing the answers to any of these questions, I'm just going to reccomend that you shop around. Give me some answers, and I'll do a little better.

i got my headunit from etronics and had no problems whatsoever, so i can't comment on their inadequacy.
hank is 100% right, you have to know the most important thing, how much are you willing to spend.
when i was looking for my system, i knew an approximate price i wanted to spend, the components that fell in that range, and then i started looking at specific brands and trying to price match.
also, a real good tip (i think) especially if you have never done audio before, and don't know much about it, is to start small. you can always add on later, and you don't run the risk of wasting lots of money on overpriced crap.

sure, go to an audio shop, and let them rip you off and sell you a bunch of crap you don't need and is overpriced.
or you could do some research, ask people who have experience, and not only learn for yourself but get some really good opinions.
besides, i have gone into "audio shops" many times and asked the guy there a question that he had no clue the answer. i find that most times i know more than the people selling the product.
i'd also like to add that the whole purpose of this forum is for members to share knowledge, not say "go somewhere else and ask them". what would be the point of this forum if everyone's question was answered "go to your dealer and ask them."?
