Single Din to Double Din

I was bored one day and decided to make my hvac piece support a double din unit. I wasn't a big fan of the Orbital Kit (props for making it and producing it though. i support that!!) because it looked a little out of place to me. so here's what i came up with.

the small opening at the bottom will have AV plugs and an iPod jack once i get all done with it.

I need to do a little more work on the side walls because they're not totally straight and its buggin the hell outta me. this is going to get textured and color matched when i'm totally done with it. i just sprayed it to get it in there for the vegas meet last weekend.

let me know what you guys think.

next up is a solution for the hvac controls...i think i know just what i'm gonna do

Can u post closeups of the hvac controls ?

Did you make a whole new panel?
or did u cut the old mounts out, and relocate it to the oem bottom panel?
More info please

Why aren't you a fan of Orbital's?

I will say you did a good job.

i just dont like the overall look of it. it looks too aftermarket. i'm trying to get mine to look like it could have come from the dealership like this. hopefully after i texture it and color match it, it'll fit better.

I have mine moved down too.. about 2 years now.
Im buying a DIN from someone else on here, to fiberglass a custom one like this..
I like how you made it deep, to eliminate the glare. It does look more factory too.
Im gonna rap it in suede also, to complete the basic theme finally.
I can always do the top of the dash and black carpet later.
The HVAC Controls work fine, too btw..

very nice. is it just me or does it look like it sticks out more than the stock HVAC panel?
