2008 GTS wiring help for amp

ok
i tried to install the amp and sub in my friends gts. The amp is hooked up and working but the light stays on even after the keys are out, but i think that is due to a REM wire problem

Anyways i tried following this https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=297464 post on hooking up the amp.

i tapped into the turquios and the yellow-blue wire for the speaker.

When we try it, the sub has no sound. Connections at the sub are good.

I took the RCA cables chopped the ends off and then pluged the other end into the amp input. The other end i chopped off i connected to the yellow-blue wire and the turquois wire.

Also, when we unpöug the RCA's from the amp, the speaker gets full power again.

Any suggestions_

You more than likely have the REM wire taped into the battery wire thats always on. As for the sound dont try and tap the stock wires with a spliced RCA cable, your amp has imputs for a normal wire set up, you dont have to use the rca.

i tapped teh REM wire into the fuse box under the dash to the stereo fuse.
Ill try that with the wires. Ill switch out chopped RCA cables and hook up regular speaker wire to the amp instead.

Also, the amp is used so i dont have instructions but the amp says input and pass through on it....im guessing the pass through RCA plugs are the output? It's a rockford fosgate amp if that helps.

alright,

so i swtiched out the RCA's for regular speaker wire to the amp, and it's still not working.

The amp still stays on ever after we shut it off. I changed the location of the REM wire though to under the hood, in the fuse box, to the 30amp fuse for the radio.

Am i missing something here? i don't understand why we aer not getting any singnal input or output.

I also have no idea why the rear driver side speaker goes dead or almost dead when we plug the tapped wires into the amp.

Ok go get a test light and test for the fuse or wire that turns on when ever your key is in the ACC position. Second as for the speaker wires,it sounds like they are flip flopped ie positives and negatives arnt in the right spot, try those two things out and see if the amp works. Btw has this amp ever worked before?

Just buy a dang hi-low convertor ($5) and stop trying to "chop" wires in to the amp.

i tired to see if i had swtiched the wire also, no dice.

The amp did work, and it actually does still work, its just staying on for some reason, unless the rockford light thing is supposed to to stay on?

And I never actually thought of buying one...that;s a good idea, ill tell her to go pick on up !

ok last RF amp that i had never stayed on, so that means that the rem is connected to a 12v batt wire. (i.e. its always on) and the reason its coming on is the fact that the acc wire if shorting it as it comes. but thats my therory.if you want o know for shure if the amp is not shorted then hook it up dirrectly to two or one subs if it can bridge and then hard wire it to the radio and use a test cd
