Good Alarm under 200
#2
if your spending under 200 you're mostly going to be looking at the same thing no matter what alarm you get.
I think the features you're looking at our like dual zone shock or whatever, and doors, and probobly 2 remotes. My first alarm was under 200 and thats all I got.
Its not really going to matter what type of alarm you get. A big part of an alarm is the install. the better an install guy can hide the wiring and electronics of it the better off you will be.
but for $200, don't be expecting much of a diversified range of products.

i have the predator 3901. its a 2 way paging unit. hood pin, 4 doors, and shock sensors, iginition disable, 4 LEDs.
I payed just over $500 installed.
You can bump it up the predator 4901 which includes a remote starter for more $$$
the second I got my car i new i was going to get a 2 way paging unit. to me regular alarms are a little useless these days. If somethings going on with my car I want to know about it. I haven't heard of a less expensive unit than what I got. ANother good brand would be compustar. their 2 way paging units start at around $800 I think.
All these prices are in CAD $$$

If you look on ebay, there are many options BUT you are still going to pay lots of money if you want the extra features that are going to protect your car. Why dont you try a local shop and see what they have to offer. Tell them you have a 200 buck budget. They might be able to work something out.

I mean, its just wires and connections, right? No art to it. Only thing that may have skill to it is hiding wires? Correc tme if I'm wrong, I know nothing about installing alarms.

well when i went to my stereo guy the said that they would install it for around 80 bucks. I think it all depends on how many options you have put on.
There is a memeber that has installed an alarm himself, he said it wasnt all that hard. But he kinda knows about cars. You might want to ask him how hard it might be for a "challenged" alarm installer. heheh (his evom.net name is Link286xt)
