my neighbor has a yellow boosted 02 lancer oz. he wired 3 gauges to his cd player power wire and all of a sudden his clock and cd player turned off all of a sudden. is it the fuse?

im guess its number 23 under the hood where the cd player is located. how do you remove it though because it has yellow brackets supporting it. i dont want to break it, thanks

 

So yeah, you pull up on the yellow surrounding piece and using needle-nose pliers pull up on that fuse. And yes, that fuse causes those items not to function.

 

so i dont have really have to remove the yellow surround piece, correct? just enough to pull up and i hear the click?

 

It's been a while since mine blew out, but I don't remember pulling it out...it just pops up a tad bit.

 

easiest way is to take out the green top ecu. then you got access to the side of the yellow connector. You can see it's being held by a clip on either side. stick a small pick or screw driver in it and pop it out.

you can insert your new fuses directly into the fuse box WITHOUT the yellow thing. it'll be easier to replace the next time. I really don't understand why they have that on there.

 

i just changed mines today. the cd player went out. a wire was touching a metal part.
