O.K., I'm getting ready to put a system in my EVO. I can get a REALLY good deal on Visonik amps from a friend of mine who gets them for cost. However, I haven't ever heard of them, and don't know anyone who does. Can anybody out there let me know how good a quality these amps are? BTW, I'm used to having Rockford Fosgate amps, so if possible, compare to them or something comparable. Thanks!!!!!

I've heard of them... and I'm not overly fond of them. They're more showy than they are powerful.

Their build quality seems to be up to par, but I'm not sure how they measure up based on their posted outputs. I haven't heard of any serious problems with them, but I do only know one person currently using them. He's pleased with them for the money he spent, but is currently looking for an upgrade.

Do with that information what you will.

That would be sweet. I'm not able to get any amps for about a month or 2, so I'm doing my research now. BTW, I'll be getting a 2-channel for the sub, and a 4-channel for the mids/highs.

I used there biggest mono amp for two 12 inch solobaric L7s and i hit 154.8db i liked the amp. I thought it was most powerful amp for the price. And i never had problems with it. I have had MTX amps and kicker amps and JL. MTX and kicker i had a lot of probs with JL is bad ***.

 

Higgity Hank, any word on the bench test? Anybody else know about these amps, MA Audio amps, or JBL amps?

 

Bench test results:

Amp: Visonik V600HC
Claimed power into 1ohm Mono: 1000w
As tested 1ohm mono: 1005w peak

So yeah... they do rated power. They don't do it especially cleanly though.

Of the 3 choices Visonik, MA Audio, and JBL, I'd definately pick up the JBL amps.

 

Thanks for the info! I appreciate you tsting the amp. I agree with you though about the jbl amps. I'm leaning more toward them the more I research them. Also they seem to be a good match with infinity speakers.

 

Stay away from Visonik they are junk amps. They are about the same quality as Legacy or Jensen. They are not true wattage amps they suck! A good amp for the money would have to be US amps, Rockford Fosgate. I know they are a little bit more but you get what you pay for. JL AUDIO makes awesome amps they are true wattage amps, also Orion amps are great. Do a search on ebay for these you can usually get a great deal on any of these. What are you trying to push with these?

 

MA audio amps are by far better than JBL or VISONIK! Ma makes some good stuff

 

Depends on what you're looking for. For straight dollars to watts, you can't beat JBL... Now on the other hand, if you're looking for bells and whistles, and chrome and crazy illumination, well Yeah head on over to the stables that house MA and Audiobahn.
