amp questions
first off i did a search and still dont completely understand this. flame me if you want but id rather you just shut up. i dont want to spend a ton on an amp for i do not have a ton to spend.
first question: amps can power the speakers and subs right...
so therefore getting a 2 channel amp with 2 subs, something would have to not be power by the amp
second question: how many channels do i need to power 4 speakers and two 450 watt subs.
third: how many watts should the amp be to power 2 450 watt subs.

well you can run your front and rear speakers on the same channel technically. If you ask Hank he says the rears arent even needed so a 2 channel amp would still be fine.
1 channel for subs 1 for speakrs. you would be far better off with going with 2 sepperate subs and hook up your subs to one amp and speakers to another
with budget in mind you could always power the speakers with the HU untill you can afford another amp and just run the subs from the amp. For 2 450 watt subs it depends on what you want out of it. I would toss atleast 500 watts if you can afford it.

basically..i want my car to bump. but not like the kind of bump that sets off car alarms and stuff. the only kind of cash i can come up with for an amp is like 200 max. for that how many watts should i go with.

200 bucks isn't gonna get you much, not to mention the amp kit. power acoustik makes some good lower priced amps.
first i need clarification...
are you just amping 2 subs? because honestly, 200 bucks to amp everything (4 speakers and 2 subs) just isn't gonna cut it.

i'll give you my system as an example. it has a nice thump, sounds VERY clean, and doesn't set off alarms or attract cops.
i'd say if you run about 300 watts RMS to a nice 10 or 12 inch sub, you'd be set, and easily under 200 bucks for the amp.

On a budget I think your best bet is to use a HU with a high power 50 or 60 watt mosfet amplifier section to power 4 speakers. Then all you need is one preout and a 1 channel class d amp to run a sub. The HU would then allow adjustment of bass level if you got one with the adjustment for the non-fader.
