Just installed new speakers and tweeters in my 08
Wow, what a difference. The factory speakers look pretty crappy compared to my new Kickers. These things definitley kick too!
I installed the Kicker 07DS600's:

I also installed the Kenwood tweeters with cross-overs:

The install was fairly easy. I noticed Mitsubishi forgot a screw for each door handle, but I had some extras. Door panels popped right off after removing the three screws from each door. The factory door speakers un-twist off from the door (cheap design, lol). Crutchfield sent me the speaker brackets and the speaker harness which made the install super easy. I did not have to cut anything on the door panel. I just drilled 3 holes into each door.
As for the tweeters, I had to do some custom work there. I had the factory GTS tweeters in my DE for quite some time, but they could not handle any high volume from my Kenwood headunit. The problem was that they were getting the low's, and clipping. I removed the tweeters from the pods, and custom fit the Kenwoods into their spot. This ended up looking perfect when I was done! I used brackets from a set of Infinity's I had laying around. I mounted the cross-overs on the door behind the panel.
Now my sound system sounds great!! Can't wait to watch a DVD in the car now! I give this speakers combination a 10/10. Good price, great quality, and very good sound.
