Go to parts store/ GI Joes and buy power inverter. Bigger is better. Install inverter (My 200W inverter plugs into the cigarette lighter). Plug in PS2 and monitor. Play. Try to beat me at GranTurismo3
You may want to find a place to hide your inverter, but I just leave mine laying up against the center console on the passenger's side.
Have fun- don't play while driving and don't drive like you're playing!!

Installed one in the Evo. Can't tell you if the clearances under the seats, etc. are the same.
PS2 is under the drivers seat, CD tray facing forward. The tray slides out cleanly, no obstructions.
The invertor ( from Radio Shack ) is under the passengers seat, along with my Alpine systems control module. I just plug the invertor into the CLighter when needed.
I have ICEd up the Evo fairly well. I have the following:
Alpine IVA-C801 multimedia system.
Alpine MRV-F340 and MRD-M300 amps.
Infinity Kappa 60.5 - front
Infinity Kappa 63.5 - back
Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1 Subs.
All that, along with the PS2.
Went for SQL not SPL...and got what I was looking for.
GT3. Shoot, you can play it in my car. Driving the Evo in the game while riding in an Evo on the street, it blows your mind.
And before anyone asks, not, I don't play and drive...I leave that to the passengers. Mostly, the playstation is used at the car shows. I play a saved replay of the Evo running the Rome endurance race. In yellow, of course, just like mine...

Yea, you are going to have to grab the 12v from somewhere under the dash and run a wire out under the center console.
You can grab the ground most anywhere.
I suggest at the ignition switch wires. You can use a variety of methods to figure out which wire is powered only when the key is turned on. That way the invertor won't draw power with the car off. I know, common sense...
As for cost, if I remember mine was around $25. I think it was a 150W model.

you can inline the inverter using the wires that USED to be for your cigarette lighter The benefit is that you will only have power with the key on. You can still take your console apart, right?
Other constant 12V sources with just the power on: That stupid clock, headunit. . . you could always run it off of the battery/alt using a switch like aftermarket fog lights do (make some long wires with ring terminals and wire into the passenger cabin).
Good luck dude

I suggested the ignition wires because the invertor is going to draw about 10A of 12v power for
every 100W of the 115v side you use.
Thats 10A x 12V ( 120W ) x 80% efficiency factor ( if you are lucky ) = 100W.
That's less than 1A at 115v BTW, and a PS2 will draw more.
You will want a 150W minimum.
Just looked under the seat - I have a 160W unit by Jensen. Seems to be the trick.
The point is, stay clear of the smaller guage wires; they may get a little toasty...
