Rockford Fosgate Amp Help! - '08 Lancer
I need help
I have a 08 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS and it has the Rockford Fosgate system but the amp seems to be draining my battery when the car is off. The battery dies gradually, after a week or two.
1. Does that usually happen with these amps over time?
2. Do you think the whole amp should be replaced?
I took it to the Mitsu dealer and they said that they would have to run a test which costs $130. And to be honest, I don't trust it because I feel like they would tell me to replace the amp anyway so that would be a waste.
What do you think? Anyone have a similar experience?
Any help would be much much much appreciated!

so after a week or two of not starting the car the battery dies ?
when was the last time you had the battery replaced ?
two weeks without starting the car wont NORMALLY drain a good battery but it will drain an older/weaker battery.
how have you determined that it is definitely the AMP ? if it is functioning properly I highly doubt its the cause of your ignition off drain.

I really doubt that your amp is the problem. Especially if it were a factory item. How did you determine that the amp was the problem? The only way the amp would be able to stay on is if the remote wire connection is somehow still getting power when the car is shut off. Which could be a short in head unit, wiring harness, or the amp. I would say that you just have a weak and old battery. If something was to remain on when the car was shut off, chances are it would drain the battery faster than 2 wks
