i have one 12" audiobahn aw1208t sub... 1500 watts rms and 3000 watts max. the audiobahn website said i should get the 1200 class D amp, one channel.......its like 400 watts @ 4 ohms, 800 @ 2 ohms, 1200 @ 1 ohm..or should i get the 1800 class D amp, 600 @4, 1200 @ 2, 1800 @ 1ohm........???so my questions is which amp would be the best choices and if someone can explain the ohm thing...

The 1200 class d will be good to power that sub. You don't want to go over the 1500 watts rms rating because you really cut the life short on the sub. The 1800 class d would give you more headroom (meaning you'd be able to play the sub louder with less distortion) but you'd really have to turn the gain down because you don't want the full 1800 watts running through the sub. The 1800 is also going to be more expensive which is another thing to consider. As far as ohms go. That is the resistence rating of the wiring setup. Think of the wire as a pipe that flows water. The cleaner the pipe is inside, the more water that can flow (hense higher watt ratings with a lower ohm rating). But when the pipe gets clogged, it can't flow as much water (hense lower watt ratings with a higher ohm rating). Hope this helps you out. PM me if you need more help.

but he wouldnt be running at 4Ohms so at most he would get 800 RMS from the first amp and 1200RMS from the second. Both at most 2 Ohm that is if they are a Dual voice coil.
