Amp question for Infinity Kappa Perfect 12D 12 VQ

Does anyone know what would be the best amp for two of these subs?
Here's a link for the sub:
Infinity Kappa Perfect 12D 12 VQ Sub 1600 W 12DVQ
The amps I was debating between are:
Kicker KX450.2
Kicker KX800.2
Rockford Fosgate Punch P8002
Audiobahn A8002T

Let me know your opinions or if you know of a better amp for these subs other then the ones i chose please let me know, thanks guys

definately go for rockford. i'va had rockford for years, amps and subs. altho this time, i bought PPI, good one too. kicker also rocks but definately go for rockford. im also planning to get the rockford 4 ch Power T8004, and goes with rockford T212D2 12'' sub. but not until i get enough money. right now, i have rockford 12'' trf2212 sub, and PPI pcx5800 5ch amp. but anyway go for rockford or kicker, but again i voted for rockford

you aren't looking at the right amps. if you want two of those infinity subs, which are 400 watts rms @ 4 ohms each, you need to look for an amp that does 400 X 2 @ 4 ohms or one that does 800 X 1 @ 2 ohms. To properly hook those subs up to any of those amps listed, you'll only be getting 200 watts rms to each sub (200 X 2 @ 4 ohms). Either see if you can get those infinities in 8 ohm versions so you can wire them in parallel and get 4 ohms for one channel (and then you could use the Punch P8002) or find an amp that meets the qualifications that I already stated.

actually you could put them into 1ohm and find a one ohm stable amp... audiobahn makes one i know of, so does MTX and JBL.

You are correct. If he stays with the 4 ohm subs. Mainly I was just pointing out that the amps he picked were not really good choices.

i think they only come in 4 ohm version...i want to stick with either kicker or rockford, but if a jl, jbl or audiopine would work better for these subs then I will definitly go the better amp.

If I were to use a combination of series and parallel that requires a 4 ohm load then wouldn't rockford or the audiobahn work great. They put out 800x1@2ohms load.

yeah that would be better. you'd get 300 watts rms to each sub if you wire them in parallel.

if you go to this site:
Car Subwoofer Wiring Guide
it shows that you could wire your subs using a combination of series and parallel which would require a 4 ohm load. If you have two subs that are 400 watt rms and 4 ohm (for ex these infinity's) and you have a mono amp that puts out 800 watts x 1 @ 4ohms then wouldn't that work perfectly. I dunno what I'm doing wrong. And if this kicker only puts out only 300 watts for each sub then what could i get to beat that, it's one of kicker's strongest amps?

By the way, thanks for all your input, I can't wait to start buying stuff for my system but I wanna make sure I'm getting the right stuff. Thanks again, Nick

i have to apologize for this one. i was lazy and never went all the way down that ebay page. i just was looking for the power and the impedence. i never saw that it was a dual voice coil sub (which you probably knew and is why you are confused). each sub will have 2 4ohm coils. you CAN wire the sub (each one indivually) itself in series to achieve 8 ohms for each sub and then you can wire the two together in parallel for a 4 ohm load. which would make any of the original amps work for you. sorry about the confusion.

I just stopped by my local audio shop and asked them about their opinion and they told me to stay away from these Infinity speakers because they aren't very good for high power levels. If you keep your system low they will be sweet but if you pump it they'll blow. They said they have a few customers that have been in their numerous amount of times becase of these speakers blowing. So now I think I might go with a pair of the new kicker solo-baric 12" L7's that just came out and the rockford power 1501bd.

I think this is a good match b/c the speakers are 750 rms and the amp is 750 watts x 2 @ 2 ohms

If I wire it using a parallel connection then it would work out fine. right?

I've got one of those and a JL 250x1 on the way to the house. I'm not sure how good it will work and I'm not very good with car sterio stuff. But then again I don't want huge amounts of bass, I just want to even out the sound in the car.
