Remote Start Alarm?

Hey guyz, I am in the market for a new alarm and I have narrowed it down to one that I am content on buying unless someone can convince me otherwise. I am purchasing a VIPER 790XV 2 Way Alarm System with Pager. This alarm comes with a remote start, and yes I do own an automatic transmission. I am posting because the last time I was at my local Mitsubishi dealership they told me that they will not install a remote starter alarm on the Lancers because it screws with the ECU. Now I have already had a problem with my ECU and had it replaced once, but what I want to know is if anyone out there has encountered ANY problems with a remote start on their lancer, or have heard of this problem. Thanks a lot!

my remote start has been working fine.. i have the black widow 7150.. i know that's not as good as a viper, so since you are going with a viper, i wouldn't hesitate to get it installed..

I got the matrix 3.5 RS. Comes with remote start, turbo timer, 5 auxilery buttons, glass break detector, backup battery, and kill switch. Got it for only $170. my boy works at Best Buy. Its a $600 alarm. You shouldnt have a problem with the ECU whatsoever. They dont always know what the hell their talking about.

I have a similar alarm and I have had no problems for more than a year. I had mine installed by BestBuy. It was expensive but the work is guaranteed

Most places will not install the remote start if you car is manual, you have get that done under the counter or have a friend do it for you.

Yeah you would leave the car in neutral.

my alarm installed was 250...the only way to start your car is if it is in nuetral....most shops will install it but will have you sign a waiver saying that they will not be responsible if you start your car in gear and damage occurs

I hate to be the devils advocate, once again, but if you ran a search you could find what everyone thinks about it.

That aside, I have a Viper 791XV with remote start, glass brake, and tilt sensor. I had it installed at Best Buy where I work and I haven't had any problems thus far. The only thing I wish I had done was bought and installed window up/down now that summer's coming up. I got mine for $350 plus install through work.
