? for anyone who has installed component systems
alright heres the deal... i bought component systems for my lancer: sony 6 1/2" w/ 1" tweeters for the back and infinity 6 1/2"s w/ 1" tweeters for the front.
now the back ones were easy... they are in and working great already. however, im having trouble planning how to wire the front ones.... i think i am going to mount the crossovers in the big hollow in the front doors (shave some of that yellow filler off so it'll fit snug) but then my biggest problem is running the wire from the tweeter to the crossover.
the tweeters are mounted on the plastic pillars on the sides of the windshield and getting the wires down to the floor was simple, but getting the wiring from the tweeters into the doors is another story... its damn near impossible to snake a wire through that plastic protective piece running between door and car.
anywhoo thats my dilema... any suggestions?

I hear you on your dilemna. I had the same problem with my components. I used a straight wire coat hanger, some electrical tape and the speaker wire and pushed, and fumbled until i got it through. But wow, what a pain in the ***!!

I've got Infinity components in the front. I put the crossovers behind the dash; thought the moisture in the doors may affect them in the long term. As Jizzay says, it's a pain feeding the wires through but not impossible. I would avoid using a coat hanger or anything metal as you may damage the existing wires, try a long cable tie and if it's tight, try some WD40 or similar lube. I've mounted my tweeters on the dash using Copydex glue. It's strong enough to stick them but can be removed at a later date without leaving any marks. Good luck

I figured it so i wouldnt even have to... i put the crossover behind the dash and simply spliced into the wire for the existing speaker... so all i had to do was run the tweeter wire and mount the woofer and i was done... it worked out really good!

I did a badass job wiring my tweets into the corner of my mirror brackets on the inside....CAUTION>>>USE VERY SHORT SCREW OTHERWISE U RISK DAMAGING POWER MIRRORS. they look great there. All my crossovers are in my trunk(easier to amp everything). My car batteries are also in my trunk.
