Question ? about good subs

this is my existing setup:

2 12" Rockford Fosgate HE2 DVC subs in a dual sealed q-logic box

I have been thinking about getting rid of this setup as it is extremely heavy and takes up alot of trunk space. I am looking to get one 12" sub that will rival these two subs (which IMHO sound pretty sweet) that takes relatively low airspace. My amp is pushing 1200 watts bridged at 2 ohms so more or less 600 watts to each sub.

One thing I should mention though, I know for $2000 i can egt a single sub that will blow these away but i'm not looking to break my bank... also i'm not looking for something thats really gonna make my ears bleed. I want something relatively well-rounded as i listen to alot of different music and its not always low continuous bass.

I still say the W3 is JL's best sub though price to power ratio.

ok nice another easy audio question. First off, never buy anything from crutchfield. r-i-p-o-f-f. enuff sed about that. ok the new line of JL 12w6's are very good but they are in limited quantity. 1 JL 12w7 isn't enough because it doesn't fill the car with every bass frequency. 2 is too much for your taste it looks like, and way too $$. Since your looking for a smaller box i don't believe there is a sub that will match 2 rockford in a small box. bigger the box USUALLY more bass if you have the right driver..also deeper bass..small boxes tend to be very punchy...but there are exceptions. best bet is to go with the JL 12w6 of even the w3. they are hard hitting SQ subs but also pack some SPL punch. you'll hit every note in the box they are made for. well.."it" is mad for since your changing to only 1 setup. The most i ever pushed to 1 JL 12w6 is 800 watts RMS. this was only for burps. it can handle about 4-500 RMS and will sounds rather good. there are other sums out there. Kickers sound great as well as the new infinity's. Those are good subs and they don't need that big of a box.

dude. crutchfield is a great place if you're just getting into it or are worried about doing it yourself. their support is second to none. they charge msrp, which some people might think is high, but hey, to each his own. crutchfield is the most (by far) reliable and noted online store. additionally, everything they sell they are authorized to. most online retailers (read: 90%+) are not authorized to sell the **** they sell... what does that mean for the buyer? no warranty. you buy it, it breaks, you're ****ed.
don't knock crutchfield. if you're a do-it-yourselfer wanting to buy online, it's the only place to go.
note: i bought my **** locally because they had what i wanted and were authorized. i didn't go to best buy or CC or some other ****ty place.. i drove an hour each way to get what i wanted (polk audio). this is much easier, imo, than waiting for shipping etc... i'm not some huge crutchfield advocate... i'm just sayin. for online car audio, they are second to none in customer service and satisfaction... to some people (me) that is very very noteworthy and important.

Well, if you're only running an 8 ga ground, and a 4 ga power (the black wire would be smaller than the red wire) then you're not getting all you could from your amp. Without getting into the electronics of it, just make sure your ground wire is the same, or bigger than your power wire. It's a good practice to get into.

On the subject of grounds, make sure where you've got it put down to the frame (I'm assuming a seat belt bolt in your case) has been sanded down to bare metal, and I personally like to use a few star washers to help bite into the metal too. (can never be too well grounded.)

Now, if your camera was just F-ing with me, you look like you're all set.
