remote entry = unlocks and locks the doors with a remote
alarm = loud *** noises coming from your car
engine kill = disables the electronics so the car wont start
trunk open = open the trunk with a remote
thats about it. but like i said alarms are worthless, if you live in the right area you can get LoJack. http://www.lojack.com/

I vote for clifford. Oh, and alarms are pretty useless, but security systems ARENT. they WILL keep your car from getting stolen. Thieves aren't going to call a tow truck to steal your car, and if you get a good security system, that'll be just about the only way it can be stolen. Nothing will keep a thief from getting what they want out of your car though. If they want your stereo, they'll have it (detachable faceplate helps ALOT there. Alot of car thieves wont bother with a car stereo they can't sell.). Definitely look into a high-end clifford system. Those are trusted by ALOT of people (including car thieves themselves...), and they are pretty much the best. Powerlock is another really good system. hope that helped.

what about a factory built in alarm?
I know in Australia it is an option with the lancer.
Would this be any different to an aftermarket alarm or are these types of alarms all the same thing?

in new york city, the club is the most useless thing a car can have. people can break those things faster than they can break into a car.
