I have competed in IASCA since 1993 and have had several high end systems built and Eclipse is hands down the best!

You get what you pay for.

 

Ive been selling and installing alpine and eclipse for more than ten years at my shop. Ive built everthing from show cars to sound off cars and tons of daily driver setups. You really can go wrong with alpine or eclipse. Some things ive noticed about the two brands over the years Eclipse has always been a very strong sounding deck, Eclipse units tend to sound a little better than Alpines especially the ones priced below 300 bucks. You will pay a tad bit more for a eclpise piece feature 2 feature over the alpine but you will get a 3 year warrenty on eclipse. Eclipse has put sound Q over looks since the started building decks Alpine sells on looks first sound q 2nd. If your not going to use amps for the hole system your designing, the poineer and panisonics will be fine two. But for all out performance in a high end system Eclipse be my choice.!!!

my pioneer made the factory speakers sound better, it really improved the sound and clarity i believe.

 

eclipes all the way, i had a panasonic, a sony, and a jvc.. but i just got a eclipse deck last week and i couldnt belive the differance

 

the first time i turned my eclipse on i was in love.. now 6 years and 4 eclipse head units later .. i would not put anything else in any of my cars... i even talked my grandma into getting one

 

i personally like my Pioneer DEH9600. i got mine for $400. sweet deal.

I haven't heard much from Eclipse lately. I'll be sure to see what they are up too.

Clarion Built the first Car radio. that makes them the shit. I have a DXZ655MP Clarion. I would have got the DXZ755MP with music snatcher but , I am an impatient man, and that was the closest they had. Alpine is played out, yeah because they are good, but their return rate latley is huge!

Stay solid go with proven performance. Choose Clarion.

 

Clarion is good, as well as Kenwood and Eclipse. I had them all at one time or another, but I still swear by my Alpine. For hu's in the same price range, Alpine can't be beat IMO.
