Will an enlarged throttle body mess with the tune too much??
Im thinking of getting my throttle body enlarged with a bigger butterfly valve too of course, and just wondering if the increase in air will mess up the tune too much, or if it will be fine with a slight power increase?

Yes, get it tuned. While the MAF is metering all the air that passes it, with the stock fuel delivery, it's anticipating that X amount of air will enter the intake manifold and combustion chamber. With the bored TB, more than X can pass through it, into the intake manifold and into the engine. While a tune may not be absolutely critical, it's worth checking the AF values to see if there's any change and to compensate for those changes.

yupp what he said if it is a piggy tune then a re tune wont do much if anything. if it is a reflash with set values not a altered code(piggy) then you should tune it. it will do fine without the tune but if you can retune it for the enlarged throttle body it will help. how big you plan on going?

well wouldnt the MAF make up for the extra air by just adding a little more fuel? i dont know what size exactly, I found a guy local to me that does them "as big as possible, yet maintaining structural rigidity" etc. etc. haha

boomba racing has throttle bodies for the x and they said it will work with our cars you just need a coupling and they will custom make a bracket to mount correctly and everything a little pricey though
