Cry02?

I ran past this stuff a few months ago when it first debuted and completely forgot about it until today when i saw it in a Sport Compact Car magazine. It had won some kind of award. Anyway, would this stuff work on a lancer? Would you see any gains from it? Its like 300.00 and says it cools your air by 60%, which I think would yield some gains, but I wanted to see if anyone has had any from of experience with it.

well, it's only been 2 hours since you posted it (now 3) give it a day or so, not a lot of people are on late at nite, I've never heard of it, try a google search for reviews on it

Sounds like it could just be an injection system like nitrous oxide but using some other compound.

it uses c02.. but nitrous+lancer=bad idea i hear... i was just wondering if this would be any different..

CO2 might be safer than nitrous oxide but not sure whether its honestly worth 300$.

me either.. i'm trying to find out though. i know it doesn't mean anything usually, but it won some kind of award.. gotta be worth something..

The CryO2 Air Intake consists of an aerodynamically designed bulb with a cryogenic chamber which is mounted in a 4" segment of air tube. The air passes over the bulb, heat is removed from the air charge resulting in a colder, denser, more powerful charge. Dyno testing showed a reduction in intake air temperature of more than 50 degrees. The CryO2 Air Intake can be used on turbocharged, supercharged or naturally aspirated applications. Multiple units can be used for colder results. Installs in minutes and comes with silicone connection sleeve, hose clamps and connection / vent hose.
what I get from it is that it will definitely lower the intake temp. but the way they describe it, the "bulb" is inside the intake piping. No matter how aerodynamically designed it is, it's still going to block the airflow more than straight tubing. DOn't know what the gains are of having the temp lowered so much, would be interesting to see if they have any dyno results with before and after graphs to know if and/or how much gains it can produce

You can win an award for pretty much nothing these days. Who gave the award? was it a reuptible source? car magazine? National Enquirer?
