Talking Buschur Catback Exhaust

just today i called buschur racing and told them i was interested in their catback system for the lancer. in a nutshell, they said if i ordered it online today, i could have it at my door in about 10 days. does anyone know if the RRM header is compatable with buschurs downpipe?

It should be compatable, but probably requires a new gasket. I think there's gonna be a big Buschur thread merge comin' up pretty soon.

Holy crap, I'm just happy Buschur is still making the parts...looks like I can revert to my old tuning plan.

Well, i had this whole plan for the exhaust system... (from front to back)...

RRM Headers (w/ILP O2 tweaker)
Buschur Downpipe
RRM Test Pipe
Buschur Catback Exhaust.

Would this be a decent exhaust system should they all fit together as one? It will probably be fairly loud and may splice in a resonator to help it (a straight through resonator that is).

Of course they'll fit. If they wouldn't, the term bolt-on would be worthless. Bolt ons: designed to fit in the proper place and alignment of stock parts.

I said it in another thread too though. You'll probably have to replace the gaskets due to the enlarged piping. Otherwise you may risk a little exhaust leakage (which can be grounds for failing inspection).

Lemme get this straight

RRM Headers (w/ILP O2 tweaker) 2.25"
Buschur Downpipe 2.5"
RRM Test Pipe 2.25"
Buschur Catback Exhaust. 2.5"

Does it make sense to do this?

EDIT: Andrew beat me again....

Why not? That about as free flowing an exhaust as you can have.

what kind of gains could i be looking at with all those buschur and RRM mods on the exhaust? i really liked bushcurs customer service and would definately like to invest in them for a cat-back.

With all that open exhaust volume, an intake and a ported TB is probably the least of the front side mods you should have. This thing would haul with a better camshaft to get more air into the combustion chamber. Curious about the torque loss (if any) if all those exhaust mods were put up. High end would be insane though.

going 2.25 to 2.5 to 2.25 to 2.5 is better then going manifold, cat #1, 1 7/8, cat #2, 1 7/8, resonator, 1 7/8, baffled muffler, and a few inches of 1 7/8.

how much would a camshaft cost? are you talking about getting a stage 1 or two camshaft?

I understand but would think to keep everything even keel throughout the entire route.

If anything spend a little more money for the Burschur Test pipe to go Manifold 2.25 to 2.5 out......

You will eliminate seal/leaking exhaust issues also!
