Install is the same. You just wire it into the ECU.

Tuning - it's very easy, and it'll come with instructions. But if you are DIYing the tuning, get an EGT guage and maybe an A/F guage - if you go too lean, you blow the motor.

PS - there's an install listed in the How To forum for Lancers.

I dont know what variables are adjusted in the RRM piggyback, but keep in mind, it is a fixed piggyback and not variable like the AFC. Conversely, the AFC can only adjust air / fuel ratios based on your mods, and there is no timing control.

it'll give similar results. the rrm piggy has more cells of adjustment so it's a bit more responsive and flexible. but as AQ said, the rrm unit is not adjustable unless you can get the laptop software, which is extra.

nope. some wires don't get used. they're for other cars that have more than one airflow sensor. the safc II type 2 also has a knock sensor.

here's the install with pictures.

you think a mod can update the thread in the "how to" to the orginal post? i had to update it cuz the original host of the pictures went down.

I have the O2 sensor mod wire hooked up on my Mirage and have had it hooked up for about two years now, with no ill effects.

Have fun tuning it. There is a lot to lean out. I have been messing with mine again lately because I was sick of 25mpg and hitting rich on my A/F at 25% throttle. I got her up to about 33mpg and it only cycles in the stoic range while I am regular driving instead of hitting a bar rich and a couple bars lean. Getting the rich out definitely wakes the engine up. I set my Lo/Hi throttle points at 15 and 65 and it seems to do well for me. Can't help with what to take away and how much. My MAS screw is backed out I use a 190lph fuel pump and a different regulator, kamikazee header/dp, testpipe and greddy, so mine is a little goofy.
