I would never recommend removing a fan. Relocating is one thing, but they're on there for a reason. I guess insulation is an option, but considering how little a difference there is between a CAI and SRI on the Lancer I'd just use a short ram personally. When the bracke on my Injen broke I had no noticable difference running a SRI.

EDIT: She also put her MAF on upside-down. Oh well.

Removing your radiator fan to put a cold air intake is not only retarded, it is just plain not common sense.

For 2HP, let me run the car to overheating?

Nope... just a little playing with the pipe and it fits.

The very least you should do is put a heat reflective wrap around the portion of the piping that runs against the transmission...it may help combat the heat soak you're inevitably going to encounter. Again though, there is really very little benefit to running a CAI over an SRI on the Lancer. Aside from the sound, it's more or less identical in terms of gains.

Try a websearch for the wrap. It looks like aluminum foil more or less.

i'm sorry for some reason i missed this in my last post but i think the idea of removing the fan is flat out rediculous...no offense man but that was really not a wise move...especially for such a little gain.

so, i was thinking today... at work we have dry ice in the ice coolers, i was thinking about putting some dry ice in my intake pipe, or near it, since dry ice is frozen air, i was thinking that would be some serious cold air getting to the engine and thus making more power, its very cold and lasts a while.. any opinions? i might not do it but im sure i can find that highschool kid that lives around here and have him do it to his SRI...

You'll probably just get a lot of condensation and damage any nearby rubber or silicone hoses/connectors. I wouldn't bother. You're risking more damage and making more effort than it's worth, especially naturally aspirated at stock CR. Perhaps something like that could be done to chill and intercooler, but it'd be terribly impractical.
