My ECU fried??????????????????
i woke up today, gotin my car started it up, and it ran....but it was idling with the exhaust going pop pop pop
naturally i said, oh sh!+
i took it to the dealership, they said all my computers were fried and now it going to cost a grand to fix it all,
now for the part i really dont want to deal with:
besides having a muffler, a test pipe, and a SRI, the only other mod that i have is, THE ROADRACE PIGGYBACK VERSION 1
now, could this be the cause? ive had it on a while now with no problems, but if it is infact the cause, then we have a problem
If someone from roadrace could PM or leave a msg on this thread it would help in the sort of straightening things out.
Current status: the dealership knows the computer is fried, im waiting to find out what caused it.

yeah, i put nothing but super in it, the guys are the dealership said its fried, not in need or reset or anything like that, basically the ecu and everything electronic wired up to it is fried, the dealership told me it was going to cost a grand to fix it but my dad talked em down to 733, but still.... i dont have that kinda cash right now so it sucks even more
one thing is for sure, im takin the piggyback off and selling it way cheap

You should have unhooked the PB first and set everything back to stock to be sure....
I wouldn't have bet on the dealer saying your computers were fried when they saw the wiring to the ECU tampered with and a new "computer" installed.
When in doubt remove the mod that has the biggest effect on electronics.

well, the bonus is that they are seeing what the cause is, which means they are not ruling the piggy back as the possible problem, and yes, nothing would work, but there is obviously a problem, and it got worse as i drove it there (stalled everytime i had to stop, it was horrible, my car was spittin black smoke, my dad had to drop me off AT COLLEGE, im happy he didnt yell and ask me if i had my lunch when i got out. you never know how much it sucks to not have something till its gone.
i miss my car damn it

I believe there is a special procedure ECU follows in that case. It should start tough.
