If you really want the pulley off, maybe go to home depot and rent an electric impact wrench for the day or something. then if that works, harbor freight sells them super cheap. just a thought.
do you by chance have a write-up on this belt change? I am assuming you are talking about the timing belt right?

thanks

Few minutes? I would say just the alternator belt or the other one. A write up would be useful for any of them!

I am not sure if it helps you although if I make a pulley I will do a full writeup for it. Maybe you want something sooner?

SO anyone have a spare pulley?

LOL guys, no, I won't do a writeup cause frankly its easily than changing spark plugs. The absolute HARDEST part is the routing of the belt, so you make a sketch before hand or look in the manual.

I didn't mess with the alternator one, just the serpentine, but the alternator looked just as easy.

I have had an underdrive pulley in my Mirage since time began, and up until I put her to bed momentarily, I never suffered any ill effects. The only adverse effect was that at idle, the AC did not blow as cold as stock. Other than that, there was no noticeable draw in power when I was under load and I turned the AC on.

Joe are you still looking to get the same performance gains as you saw on the ralliart? Because so gains are pretty impressive. I just want to see how it fairs with our 4G94

Alchemist - put on the socket and ratchet and then get like a 10' seciton of pipe and slide one end over the end of the rachet. That should give you enough torque to get that bolt loose

Just out of curiousity, has anyone checked to see the cost of a new OEM pulley from the stealership? Also, everyone should check with their local junk yards and see if there are any wrecked Lancers there that you could get the pulley off of.

then spin a bearing by rotating the crank backward and fuxor the engine.

no thanks. I'll get it off when I have some time to make a lock for the crank pulley.

Once I have something I can start doing some work on it, until then I have no idea. I will keep everyone posted although I have no pulley yet. If someone can get me a part # I can call the dealership on it.
