Weapon R review
As some of you may remember, I was recently caught between a rock and a hard place when it came to selecting which intake I was to upgrade to. In the end, it was Weapon R's dept. of advertizing and an extensive search that dissuaded me from going w/ any one else, RRM came in close second.
Anyway...
Backround: The Weapon R Secret Weapon claims to use Boyle's law and the Bernoulli effect. Boyle's law states that as the velocity of a fluid increases, it's volume increases while it's pressure decreases. Bernoulli's Equation states that a moving fluid has a lower pressure than one that is still or slow moving. So through the smaller pipe we have a high velocity, high volume, low pressure air flow. When the two air flows meet at the throttle body end of the pipe, the low pressure area created in the smaller pipe has a pulling or vacuum effect, drawing the laminar flow from the outer pipe.
Performance: (I have not dealt w/ any other intakes besides the stock) Felt a modest boost in performance, about as much as I was told to expect from any other SRI. Gained some low & high-end torque, a little more than I was expecting which was nice. It put a smile on my face.
Installation: Installation was a breeze, it ended up taking me (w/ no precedent knowledge of "how to", and relying on the inept instructions included) about two hours to install.
Sound: Idle- An understated/tasteful groul.
Full-throttle- Difficult to describe...I can only relate it to the sound of the Ferarri on Fast n Furious, corny though it may be.
I've had no problems since the install and I'm overall satisfied with it.

sweet review. i dont care for how they look at all. it just reminds me of an intake that you would see on a 89 accord with an aluminum spoiler, 13x13 rims, and a nike check in size 600 font on the rear window. just like those intercooler intakes.

actually with our car it is the same intake tube that is used on the dragon intake. I am trying to deicide between the 2. From what i have heard the dragon is louder than the SR. But im not sure other than that.

I also have the Secret Weapon and I must say, I completely agree with DoubleHelix. My only question for you Helix is how did you keep yours from Dragging downward? Mine use to slump and practically hide itself behind the battery. I ended up using a metallic band and bolting the band around the Intake and my Strut Bar.
