Well what headers are you getting?
Do you have the money fo rthe cat-back?
2.25 is fine for a turbo lancer.

switching headers will not in any way affect your exhaust. All your doing is switching from a cast iron header to an aluminum(I think...) header. If you get one that is ceramic coated, that is even better because it keeps the heat at bay.... in other words it keeps the engine bay cooler which makes for a happier motor.

But I wouldn't buy the header first. To be honest with you I wouldn't buy any of the exhaust until you buy the turbo. I've been thinking of putting exhaust on mine but when it gets down to it your really not going to see TOO much of an increase in power. It just sounds better. Just play the sleeper approach and leave the exhaust stock until you get a turbo... that way your friends will be like ...what in the world did he do?!

If I was in your situation I would get the RRM Header with a custom downpipe. I wouldn't buy a catback exhaust until it was time for turbo. If the turbo is still quite a ways away then an axle back would be fine (I would get it).

an exhuast does make a little bit of a difference. first thing i did was a magnaflow catback.the car sounded better and responded better. especially when rev matching and heel toe. yeah its really only good for say 3-6 hp. but couple it with a cai for another 3-6 hp and it will be even more responsive. and you might actually [feel] a difference. other wise, hold out on the header until you go turbo.

Don't buy them.

If you're going turbo, just wait and get the turbo exhaust manifold RRM now sells!

I would think so, but when you go turbo you need to get a catback. If you are forcing air into the engine you need to have a way to get it out smooth and easy.

Yes, you can put the header on the stock exhaust.

But I still say it's stupid if you're going turbo. You're buying a part that you KNOW you'll be removing later...

The newer turbo kits come with a turbo exhaust manifold and are supposed to make more power. The old turbo kits use the RRM header. It's all up to you though.
