OZ Fuel Filter

the dealer will say whatever they want all the darn time... so oh well... They want you to service the hell out of your vehicle because it gets them money. In all technicality oils are so good these days that you don't even need to change standard oil until about 5,000 miles. And Synthetic at around 8,000. But we all change at 3K and 6K respectively regardless. When it comes to the fuel filter... I wouldn't worry about changing it until you have some sort of problems or something. Or just do it at 50K. Unless you are putting in crappy gas or having people putting mustard and olives in your gas tank (funny story... well maybe vaugely funny... pm me if interested) you probably don't need to change it.
And as far as the PCV valve... on my old car I ran something like 60,000 miles and never replaced it.. no big deal... just pull it and look to see if it is dirty. But you can replace it too if you like since it is easy and is very cheap usually.
Later.

46300 miles on mine, car runs like dogg **** when you shift and give it some gas. Feels like it's missing. Plugs are new and gap is correct, wires have less than 25k ohms, I'm hoping it's the fuel filter, the check engine light came on and the OBDII sensor said cylinder 4 misfire. Sound like the fuel filter?? or maybe a shabby injector? This is just a work car no real big deal but I expect better from mitsubishi.

Don't need to change fuel filter until hitting 45-65K mileage. 75K is usually the max, because you'll feel the performance lost.
A clogged Fuel filter will reduce your MPG, because it takes a bit more fuel to flow through a clogged filter.
Wrong filter under the back seats. That's your fuel pump filter. Don't really need to change it until the 100K.

heck. i know plenty of fuel pump filters that have run the course of the car's life without getting overly clogged. I pulled my pump last week on my 240 to replace it with a high flow walbro, and the original sock filter still looked like it was in good condition (this was at 123K)

i work at jiffy lube so i thought hell i'll change my fuel filter but in the books at work we didnt have one so i called the dealershiip and they said just to do a fuel injection cleaner. so thats what i've been doing about every 15k it works we hook up a bottle to the intake manifold and and a bottle to the gas tank. cleans the valves( intake an exhaust ),injecters, fuel lines ,some vacuum lines . it gets all the dirt and carbs out its a good fluse and as for the pvc valve i did that also . working at jiffy lube has its perks even if its bulls#@t pay. but free oil changes with mobile 1sen. tranny fluse and other s@#t so in the end it all works out ,dont have to pay for it all...
