Check this out...
These guys advanced their timing with just a few minutes of work and are basically pulling hp (as small as it may be) out of the air. Could we do something simular on the 08 Lancer? I know and Mazdas are different in many ways but is there a way to advance timing on the B11?

You can try that, but if you advance it it'll take away from the top end. You'll gain low/mid range, but no top end. Simply done with an aftermarket cam gear... Theres a few available for our Lancers.

For a second there I thought you had an '08... or have you not updated your "drives"? Anyone with any cars can play with it's timing to seem like you're getting power somewhere else in the powerband, but unless it's modded (cam/P&P/etc etc) there is no need for it. I'm sure the factory set it to exactly where it needs to be!

interesting. i did the same thing with my go kart, moved the cam over 1 tooth. it doubled the hp that simply
but its not the same for cars since they are multi cylinder engines.
