1/4 mile GTS

So I did some research while on my lunch break today...

16.3 @ 87mph
0-60 in 7.8 sec.

I was surprised at this time...my 04 ES must have been in the 17's...

Also read that the 09 gets a 172hp motor instead of the 08's 152 rating. Guess I'll have to do some modifications afterall.

Evolutionm.net in their test had a 0-60 time in 7.65 ( https://www.evolutionm.net/features/article.php?id=80 ), Motor Trend in 7.7 ( http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...hi_lancer_gts/ ). As far as the 2.4l engine goes, I think we will see the new Evo and new Ralliart before we will see a 2.4l engine back in regular Lancers. Although Mitsubishi is already using a 2.4l version of the "World Engine" in their Japanese Outlander that is in fact rated at 172HP.

I dont care what they say I dont think they have there facts straight I dont think the 2.4 will be in the GTS maybe the RA but the 2.4 was the old RA motor anyways the 4b11 is what is coming in the EVO so i'll take a full jap racing motor over a dodge motor hell it might not even have mivec. And in road and track its says that all lancer will have the 4b11 so who do you beleive its all speculation for now and wright now i have a 08GTS and i am sure RRM will have this 4b11 pushing some HP out of it very soon

Why would a Rally car have a 2.4L? Isn't 2.0 the max displacement for a rally? I'm not an expert. I don't know anything about past Lancers. I thought they were always 2.0 or lower.

And the 2.4 is simply the 2.0 with a bigger block, it isn't a "Dodge" motor any more than the 2.0 is. A 3rd party manufactures the blocks, the 1.8, 2.0 in our lancers, and the 2.4 for Dodge and Mitsubishi based on their joint specs.

Saying the 2.4L is coming out for the Lancer isn't too much of a stretch, it could easily fit inside the gaping engine bay and is already compatible with the GTS' CVT Transmission.

Don't forget that this Lancer is supposed to be sold to a more mature audience who isn't really interested in racing or rallying, so a larger motor that doesn't fit inside the Rally Rules is fine.

It is incorrect to say even the 2.4L engine if it is indeed released for the '09 Lancer will be a "Dodge" motor.

Well since u dont know anything about the old lancers and I have owned three u are putting your foot in your mouth! The 2.4 isnt a rally motor its comes in the 04 Ralliart (RA)and since its new format was put in a DODGE first then yes i would call it a dodge motor. Just like the new Mitsu truck is mostly all dodge parts. And if it is relased for the lancers in 09 which i dont see happening unless they put it in the new ralliart with a turbo not the GTS. And saying that the lancer is for a more mature audience is crazy lets see 650 watt Rockford system with an IPOD hook up and not for racing there commercial is two 20 year olds racing around an interstate on and off ramp . What i am saying is that the 2.4 isnt even on mitsubishi list there is a 4b11(new 08 lancers) and a 4b11T (evo).

The 2.4L Dodge motor is a variant of the 4B11. The 4B11/World Motor has been designed jointly by Dodge, Hyundai, and Mitsubishi.

I know that the 4b11 is mitsu's version of the 1998cc "world motor". But thE 4B11 motor is made in Japan the Dodge 2.4 motor isnt. And i quote from Edmunds "NO 2.4 Liter engine has been announced for the lancer". The only 2.4 liter mitsu engine i have ever seen was in my 04 RA and it was A SOHC motor. And that is not the world motor. Its the same motor that comes in the 07 eclipse . SO if a 2.4 liter turbo motor comes in the new RA it will most likely be the same 2.4 liter turbo that is in the Dodge caliber. HENCE THE DODGE MOTOR! If it isnt the dodge caliber motor then it will be the old 2.4 (4g69)that was in the 04 lancer RA. This is confusing u there are two different 2.4 motors that i am talking about mitsu's old 2.4(4g69) and Dodges new "world version" 2.4
