Exclamation REAL one second 0-60 drop?

A question to all that have one: Do you think the RRM SRI really drops an 08 Lancer's 0-60 time a full second? What kind of increase would that be in the 1/4 mile?

Thanks

It is a big increase. I'm not sure if it's a full sec. or not but you can definately feel it.

So you start a thread so people can guess?

Until someone lays out a detailed test where they do before/after runs, there's no real answer. You can either believe the people that tested it (RRM, show time, etc.) or not.

At the track (1/2 Mile Oval) I was running 2 seconds faster with both the intake and exhaust, so I would think probably between .2 and .4 seconds off 0 - 60 based on my guess that 1/4 of the time is to get up to speed

Until we have actual tests (ie. professional driver who can get consistent times does it) it's all heresay. I do find it rather odd that they use the same description (more or less) for all their intakes.

Just easier that way. Not everyone is going to come up with a whole new sales pitch for what it basically the same product.

If you scan the website of the library I work for, you'll note that a lot of descriptions and such look very close to those of other libraries. Our motto is "steal if you can, create if you have to."

Isn't that any academics motto? I would be very shocked if just an intake dropped a full second off the 0-60 time.

It depends on who you believe. Both RRM and show time did it with stopwatches and got a second difference.

I tried it with my CVT, but I couldn't get anything approaching consistent numbers. Used a GTech, used a stopwatch, no matter what, the numbers were all over the board.

The problem I have with that kind of testing is there's so much human error to mess with the results. I'm sure if I tested the 0-60 on my car I'd get numbers all over the place.

Yeah, but it's the best we have. Unless some major company or magazine does comprehensive testing with state-of-the-art equipment, it's all just about stopwatches.

Once more folks hit the drag strip, we'll have better numbers. If I didn't live in the middle of g*****n nowhere, I'd be at the strip all the time.

Well you can take a stock lancer and ride in mine and you'll know the difference second or not. my bad if I didn't do the testing. It's a good solid product that I'm extremely happy with.

The problem is a lancer with an intake doesn't sound the same as a lancer without an intake. Now you may ask "well duh, what kind of retarded comment is that?" but sound plays a huge role in how we "feel" things. When I first got my intake on my lancer, I swore the car was way faster but logically it was not.
