Oil is oil, I have yet to see conclusive proof that one brand provides more power than another (and more importantly, does so safely).

Nope, I've yet to see a study that actually showed without a doubt that one oil improved performance over another. Plenty of oils are better quality in terms of their ability to lubricate, handle heat, resistance to degradation, etc. (Amsoil and Motul come to mind) but that doesn't mean they produce significant gains on the dyno that can actually be attributed to the oil.

well all i know is that mobile one and royal purple are the 2 leading brands right now. Synthetic always lasts longer especially mobile one extended performancer (15,000 miles til the next oil change)

I started using Royal Purple as well.

You won't find any noticeable gain by switching to synthetic. I switched for peace of mind especially during those cold canadian winters when conventional oil becomes very thick.

I heard you can't. Correct me if i'm wrong. It's either that or it's not good for the car.

yeah you can change back them with no problems, that's why it's possible to have semi-synthetic oil.

Royal purple isn't worth the premium.. Pennzoil Plat. Full syn protects just as good for less.

Oh and yeah you can switch back no problem.
