Engine Sounds Like A tractor

So it started happening recently and I have no clue what, or why it is doing this. But my engine sounds like a tractor, and when its in the 1000-2000rpm range, you can hear a metal clanking of sorts. when its over 2000rpm it sounds fine, but i attached a clip of how it sounds. You can not really hear the clanking, but i cant really track it down either. All i know is that it is coming from the passenger side, by the timing belt, area.

Engine Sound Clip

Any ideas... cause i sure as hell am stumped.
I am gonna do the timing belt soon, and its about 10,000 miles on the plugs, but i want to see if i can fix it, before i turn it over to the dealership mechanic

maybe there is a exhaust leak on that side. Sounds normal to me, but i would also try changing your spark plugs. Then move on from there.
just a thought.

the PCV valve has never been replaced, and I am just worrying myself cause it ran quiter before. that noise isnt as bad as the one that shows up in the 1000-2000rpm range

i am definitley looking at new plugs either this week, or in august (im going away for 2 months so the car is just gonna sit).

knocking would mean your oil is low, but would only knock until oil has been warmed up. not really sure what else it could be.
