I have a kamikaze that keeps my car sounding nowhere near ricer, but my only problem is when it starts to get higher up in RPMs it does some little buzzing like a screw i loose, but I've checked all the bolts on the DP and the header, so i dunno

i had 2.5 in piping on my crx, with a off brand fart can, it had a cat on it, and ebay headers but it sounded Mean. it was very deep for a honda, but when i had the stock piping with the fart can it was pretty high pitched and annoying. so ide assume piping does make a pretty Big difference. BUT it started back firing every time ide shift at high rpms. it sounded like gun shots. it was great.

It sounds normal to me but its been a while since I've been in a lancer with a header installed. If something is wrong, it could just be the header hitting the heat shield (not sure if the Kamikaze retains this).

No heat shield. I can't figure it out, below 3k RPMs no noise. Anything above, it'll buzz

Its just all the pressure building up in your cat. Than its pushing it out making all those noise. Its all that pressure going into a tiny hole.

I do still have stock cat......ugh....I was gonna buy OBX high flow, merely because it was cheap. And I know that my car won't gain HP from that, lol.
